all of these dreams in my head
keep spinning round
I'm grabbing my paper and pencil
to pin 'em down
I'll sketch my world as a prettier place
draw my self with a smiley face
and make this picture perfect
but all of these lines on my page
won't mean anything
until I learn to erase
the ones that I don't need
I'm covering up the stupid mistakes
and starting over and over again
to make this picture perfect
I'll start with where I'm standing now
and begin shaping where I want to be
no one can tear my picture down
because it's me
and as long as I'm still proud of this self portrait I'm creating I'm doing fine
ya doing fine
every now and again
someone comes along
they try to box me in
to a corner I've drawn
but pushing the walls down and struggling free makes me strong so I can keep
making this picture perfect
ye-yeah
chorus:
I'll start with where I'm standing now
and begin shaping where I want to be
no one can tear my picture down
because it's me
and as long as I'm still proud of this self portrait I'm creating I'm doing fine
ya doing fine
ya doing fine ya
and what I'm sketching doesn't have to be
anything fancy
no
I'm just shaping stronger sides of me
of me, of me ye-yeah

Self Portrait
So, I have a fascination with taking self portraits, I'm not really sure why. Something about taking pictures of myself in the mirror is exciting and fun. I could probably spend hours in front of the mirror making different faces, trying to create an image that completely captures my personality, or different aspects of it. So here are the latest, although the Brittany bathroom doesn't provide the best background. Anyway... here they are, a few out of hundreds (wow... that makes me sound really vain to have hundreds of pictures of myself...).
I like the lyrics to this song from the LDS Pride and Prejudice soundtrack. It's called Self Portrait by Stephanie Smith, so I thought it would be fitting for this post:

I love all the pictures that you take in the mirror, they always capture a new side of you!
Sweet song too!
thats a new expression! havent seen that face before...looks like the kind of expression you'd made if someone had gotten your slinky twisted around them and despite it no longer being slink-able, you are somewhat amused.
you have hundreds? i guess thats okay...you can still be my sister :)
well to me that face is so cassidy!!! thats the face you make right before you are going to make a sound effect to describe what ever it is your describing!! i love it!!
