Christmas Cards

I know it's not even Thanksgiving, but I got the urge to design some simple Christmas cards today. Let me know what you think!

Timpanogos

For my Photography class we were supposed to shoot a landscape. So, one evening Kevin and I went up to a view point off Squaw Peak road and shot a few pictures. We lost light pretty quick because we were a little too late, but I got a couple good shots, most of them just look similar. But here are the two I think were best!

Typeface Poster

So... I am currently working on this project for my typography class. The assignment is to make a poster highlighting a typeface of our choice. We are supposed to emphasize the important parts of the typeface and also have some sort of concept behind the design. Franklin Gothic was designed for newspapers because it is very easy to read in condensed forms. So, I decided to fashion my poster after a newspaper. It is supposed to have color and something that stands out from 50ft, 5ft and 5in. It's been interesting trying to add color to it because newspapers are mostly black and white and the color is mostly in images, however, early newspapers used quite a bit of red so I'm trying to incorporate that. You can click on the image to view it larger if you would like.

Movie Poster

This is my photoshop project for my computer class. We were supposed to make a movie poster using at least 3 different images. It is supposed to be 8.5x11 which seems funny to me. I actually started doing it 11x17 and then realized it was the wrong size. It looks better longer though... I would love suggestions and ideas!

Enhanced Quote

Another project for my type and layout class. We were supposed to use an image to enhance a quote and put a twist on it. I have this quote on my other blog so I thought I would use it. I came up with some interesting twists, PB&J in one jar, cereal and milk, but my teacher wanted something that people wouldn't necessarily think of together. So, thanks to Kevin's help we have cottage cheese and potato chips, which I absolutely love. Most people think it's pretty weird until they try it...
